Muchalaht Marina (Gold River) serves as the water taxi base.
Our 34.5 foot aluminum vessel is wheelchair accessible, seats 12 comfortably and can carry up to 12 kayaks.
The top of the Nootka Trail can be accessed via Tongue Point (Nuchahtlet Traditional Territory), with more drop off points available such as Third Beach, Calvin Falls, Bajo Point, Beeno Creek and Yuquot (Friendly Cove). The average trail time is five days.
The Hesquiat Penninsula offers a more challenging trail. Start the trail with the drop off at Escalante Point. Plan to complete the trail one way and arrange for pick up out of Hesquiat Lake/Boat Basin (minimum 6 passenger recommended). Or back track to Escalante Point for pick up, this would require at least eight days.
